Lingopie has no free plan on the web, just a 7-day free trial. Its paid options are a 3-month plan that covers one language, and yearly and lifetime plans that cover all its languages. Current prices are in the table above, checked on October 30, 2026, and that day the pricing page was running a Halloween sale.

Lingopie is a streaming service for language learners, with its own catalog of shows and movies. We make Lingosive, a dual-subtitle extension for the streaming sites you already use, so we're not neutral. Every Lingopie detail below comes from its own pricing page and FAQ, homepage, blog and store listings, all checked that same day.

How much does Lingopie cost?

Lingopie sells three plans on its website: a 3 Month Plan, a Yearly Plan and a one-time Lifetime Subscription. The amounts we saw on October 30, 2026 are in the table at the top of this page, in US dollars. We couldn't check what visitors in other countries see, and the page had no note about sales tax or VAT.

The 3-month and yearly cards lead with a per-month figure, but each plan is charged as one payment for the whole period. There's no monthly plan on the website, so the shortest commitment there is three months.

The sale changes how to read the numbers. Under a "Scarily Low Prices" banner with a countdown timer, the yearly and lifetime cards showed a sale price next to a higher, crossed-out amount and a "Save" percentage, and the lifetime card was marked "LIMITED OFFER". We couldn't confirm what either plan costs after the sale, so the table lists both as sale prices rather than treating the crossed-out amounts as regular prices. The 3-month card had no crossed-out price, and the FAQ repeated the cards' amounts, sale prices included.

At those sale prices, the yearly plan came to less than half the 3-month plan's per-month cost, and the lifetime purchase cost a little under three years of the yearly plan. We couldn't confirm whether a yearly plan bought during the sale renews at the same price. Older reviews quote figures that don't match today's page.

Is Lingopie free? The 7-day trial and the app's free minutes

Lingopie isn't free on the web: there's no free plan, only a free trial. The pricing page's FAQ answers "Is there a free plan or free trial?" with "Lingopie offers 7-day full access", and the page states: "You won't be charged during your 7-day free trial."

Watch the end date, though. The refund terms say the yearly subscription "is charged after your 7-day free trial is over and can't be refunded", so decide on the full year before the seven days are up.

The iPhone app works a little differently. Its App Store listing says "Enjoy 8 minutes of language learning each week for FREE" and invites you to "Upgrade to a Monthly or Annual plan." The App Store lists monthly, 3-month and yearly in-app subscriptions, several of them at more than one price, and we couldn't tell which price a given account sees.

What does each Lingopie plan include?

Lingopie's pricing page advertises "5,000+ TV Shows & Movies", and what sets the plans apart is how many languages you get. The 3-month plan includes one language, while the yearly and lifetime plans include all of them.

3 Month PlanYearly PlanLifetime Subscription
BillingOne payment every three monthsOne payment a yearOne-time payment
Renews automaticallyYes, until you cancelYes, until you cancelNo
Languages1 languageAll languagesAll languages

"All languages" means up to 17, the number on Lingopie's homepage: Spanish, French, German, English, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Dutch, Turkish, Hebrew, Polish, Greek, Swedish and Norwegian. Its app and Chrome Web Store listings name 12 to 14, so if yours is one of the less common ones, check that it's offered where you plan to watch.

What you watch is Lingopie's own licensed catalog, not Netflix or Disney+. Beyond TV shows and movies, its homepage lists kids' content, podcasts, short stories, audiobooks, group and private lessons, and study tools such as video flashcards and an AI-powered grammar index. The plan cards compare plans only by billing and languages, so if lessons are why you're signing up, check what your plan covers first.

Besides the website and the iPhone and Android apps, Lingopie has TV apps: the homepage links to Roku, Android TV and Fire TV versions and says Lingopie is built "for language learning on every device you own, including the one across from your couch."

Membership also includes a Chrome extension, which a Lingopie blog post says "comes with your Lingopie membership at no extra cost". Its Chrome Web Store listing describes dual subtitles, click-for-translation and saving vocabulary, says the extension runs on Chrome only ("Safari is no longer supported") and notes that "Lingopie does not include streaming subscriptions." The listing doesn't name the streaming sites the extension works with.

Can you cancel Lingopie and get a refund?

Yes, you can cancel a Lingopie subscription at any time. It renews automatically until you do, and the FAQ says "You can keep using Lingopie until the end of the billing period."

Refunds are a separate matter. Here is the refund wording on the pricing page, word for word:

Subscriptions for the current month are final. A cancellation of your subscription will cancel any following payments. Yearly subscription is charged after your 7-day free trial is over and can't be refunded.

Read plainly, canceling stops future payments but doesn't refund the current one. The wording doesn't mention the lifetime purchase, so ask Lingopie about refunds before buying that plan. On the website, Lingopie takes "all major credit cards and debit cards" through Stripe, its payment processor.

Is Lingopie worth it?

Lingopie is worth it if you want a ready-made streaming library built for language learners, on your laptop, phone or TV, without paying for another service. It makes less sense if you mainly want to learn from Netflix, Disney+ or another service you already pay for, or if you want a free plan you can keep using.

Lingopie is a good fit if you:

  • want real shows and movies with learning tools built in, without a separate streaming subscription;
  • like to study from the couch, with apps for Roku, Android TV and Fire TV;
  • want podcasts, short stories, audiobooks or lessons alongside video;
  • are learning more than one language, since the yearly and lifetime plans include all of them.

Its apps are well rated, too: on October 30, 2026, the iPhone app showed 4.4 stars from 2.2K ratings on the US App Store and the Android app 4.3 stars from 6.8K reviews on Google Play.

It's probably not for you if you:

  • already pay for Netflix or Disney+ and want to learn from what's on there, because Lingopie's price covers its own catalog, not streaming subscriptions;
  • want a free version to keep using, as the website has only the trial and the iPhone app's free tier is eight minutes a week;
  • would rather pay month to month on the website, where the shortest plan runs three months.

A free-plan alternative: Lingosive

Lingosive, the tool we make, takes the opposite approach to Lingopie: it has no licensed catalog of shows and movies, so you bring your own subscriptions, and it adds dual subtitles on the streaming sites you already use, namely YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and HBO Max, in Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers on a computer. The second line is a machine translation into your language, and dual subtitles and word translation work without an account. A free account lets you save up to 100 words and phrases, get 10 AI word explanations a day and look up three different words or phrases a day in Word in Film, which plays short clips where they're said in English, Spanish, French, German or Japanese. Premium removes those limits and is sold monthly, yearly with a free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase; Lingosive's pricing page shows the price in your country. There's no TV app, and no extension can add subtitles inside phone or TV apps, but the Lingosive app for iPhone and Android has its own library of YouTube videos with dual subtitles. Lingosive is independent, with no ties to Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video or HBO Max.

Not on its website, where there's no free plan, only a 7-day free trial. The iPhone app's App Store listing offers 8 minutes of free learning a week.

How much does Lingopie cost per month?

There's no monthly plan on the website. The 3-month and yearly cards show a per-month figure, but each plan is paid in one charge, and the table at the top of this page lists what we saw on October 30, 2026, during a Halloween sale. The App Store lists monthly in-app subscriptions at more than one price.

Does Lingopie have a free trial?

Yes, for 7 days, and the pricing page says you won't be charged during it. On the yearly plan, the charge comes when the trial ends and can't be refunded.

Does the yearly plan include all languages?

Yes. The yearly and lifetime plans include all of Lingopie's languages, while the 3-month plan includes one. The homepage lists 17 languages; its app and Chrome Web Store listings name 12 to 14.

You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period. The FAQ says payments for the current month are final, and the yearly charge after the trial can't be refunded.

No. Lingopie streams its own catalog of shows and movies, so you don't need Netflix or any other streaming service. Its Chrome extension comes with membership, and its listing notes that "Lingopie does not include streaming subscriptions."
