Each list ranks real TV series and movies by how hard their language actually is, measured from their subtitles: how rare the words are, how fast people speak and how many of the words are among the 2,000 most common. Every show page lists the words typical of that show, with meanings and short real scenes.

How we measure difficulty
Every clip in our library gets a difficulty level from 1 (easiest) to 5 (hardest), based on how rare its words are, how fast people speak and how long the sentences are. A show's level is the middle value of its clips, and each list runs from the easiest show to the hardest. The numbers describe the clips we have, not every episode.
